Random Development – Michal Fedeleš

RANDOM DEVELOPMENT

Put simply, this project is about expanding how you see the world and who you become.

The idea

Professional development programs commonly offer to help you develop skills, such as communicating clearly, solving problems, or making defensible decisions. All such skills can be incredibly useful — especially when paired with asking deeper questions, such as:

  • Who am I becoming as a leader, professional, and person as I use these skills?
  • Why do I do what I do, and for whom?
  • How do the ways I lead, decide, and relate impact the people and systems around me?

You may think of Random Development as a sandbox for relating such questions to the world as we know it. It's not a course to complete, as a course alone is rarely a solution to our troubles. Instead, imagine an evolving flow of provocations, real-life challenges, and conversations designed to change how you see and act. Not a new skill practiced in a workshop room, but the full complexity of your work life examined in new ways.

What you'll find here

Weekly provocations: short pieces, on LinkedIn and Substack, meant to be read in two minutes and carried into your week. Ideas to inspire, challenge, expand your mind.

Developmental challenges: self-study worksheets and modules built around real, unresolved situations: a decision, a conflict, a career crossroads, a team under strain. Instead of neat answers, you arrive at better questions, and examine your own moves.

Workshops & courses: deeper, peer-based experiences exploring career- (and self-) reinvention, organizational change, and thoughtful, respectful, collaborative leadership.

Coaching conversations: one-to-one chats we schedule when you are ready to apply new insights — where learning becomes transformation, an expanded mindset, and both effectiveness and satisfaction.

How it works

Think about development as an upgrade for the mind. Imagine stepping into a world of vivid colours from what had always seemed like grey. Seeing the world and its challenges in new ways opens up a universe of new possibilities.

Your learning may unfold somewhat like this: experience → reflection → changed seeing → changed choice → changed practice → what changes for others. Attentive and responsive to the effects of your choices and actions on other people, you make important decisions with a clearer mind, and help your team navigate relationships and difficult conversations with greater ease.

An invitation, not a syllabus

Nothing here is meant to be "final." Every piece (this page included) is a starting point for reflections, conversations and experimentation. Your thoughts, resistance, memories, and wonderings all help your development to take place. If something doesn't fit your context, role, or culture, naming that disconnect or gap can be just as useful as anything else.
