In 2020, as our lives moved online, and many teachers were trying to figure out how to make the same impact on our learners as we do in person, I wrote this little book to help.
Over time, learning has taken new forms: hybrid, app-based, AI-supported. Yet good teaching is still about purpose, knowing the learners, thoughtfully planning, and being responsive. It is about engaging in meaningful challenges and offering ample support.
Effective teaching also means continuous dialogue with learners and colleagues, being curious about what works well and why, experimenting with our own practice, reflecting, and imagining where we might take our classes and assignments next.
Read it and reflect on it. Though I wrote Playful: The Art of Teaching Virtually with online teaching in mind, the core ideas are well applicable to engaging, challenging and supporting your learners in person or in a blended format as well.
