How it all began for me
When I found myself in front of a class of mischievous fifth-graders in my early twenties, with no teaching credential or experience, I decided to recreate my best times as a learner: being respected, challenged and supported. I followed my instincts, activating my wide-eyed students' imagination, sense of play, and discovery. The results were phenomenal!
That experience sparked a lifelong pursuit of nurturing caring connections, promoting conscientious development, and designing systems for impact. From health science professionals to police investigators, real estate agents, and government organizations in North America and Europe, I have been challenging the "but we've always done it this way" mindsets.
What inspires my work
I am energized by helping organizations come alive, and individuals feel fulfilled. Along with designing, reviewing, and refining programs in the public and private sectors, I have led education efforts in health sciences (University of British Columbia, University of Victoria, Simon Fraser University), leadership (Justice Institute of British Columbia), industrial and organizational psychology, and health and wellness psychology (Adler University).
When I am not immersed in a project, you may find me strolling the streets of Porto with my camera, connecting with friendly neighbours (or complete strangers), or just admiring nature's beauty or human ingenuity in beautiful architecture and art. Or crashing a local Pro-D event (despite still being in the early stages of mastering Portuguese), discovering like-minded colleagues.
Why work together
If your organization's programs or systems could use a sharper focus, better alignment, or a more energizing implementation, or you wish to bring a more open mind to your company, let's explore together, draw up an action plan, and spark more rewarding experiences for all!
I have been supporting students and professionals in active experimentation and discovery learning in training and development, facilitation, coaching, behaviour change, health, leadership, and organizational psychology. I consult on the design of systems and development programs. And, I like a good organizational challenge!
